This was a beautiful ice sculpture from our First Night celebration in Boston. I am usually in bed asleep by the time the clocks strikes midnight but lucky for me it was still there in the morning as I walked to my Core Fusion class.
I am not a fan of the new year resolution. I do agree that It is a great time to reflect and think about what we want to create in the upcoming fresh, new year. Heaping a bunch of resolutions on top of the mix puts a lot of pressure on us.
We (our brains, our body) can only deal with a certain number of things at any one time and if we are trying to lose weight, work out more, do more in our business, blog more regularly, stop smoking, keep our houses more organized….. it is a lot for our mind, body and spirit to take care of all at the same time. One thing slips through the crack, then another and soon we lose our way. We mean well but it is hard.
I prefer to do something every day that gets me closer to my goals but not to make them as resolutions. I focus on one big thing and then make decisions through my day that help me get closer to my other goals. Once one becomes a habit, then I can focus on the next thing.
My two gyms help me because you have to reserve your spot in class and once I do that, I go. Now it is part of my day. I am adding my green drink back into my day. I don’t beat myself up if I skip a day but they make me feel good. I researched and added in a new antioxidant into my regime. All little things that help me reach my goals.
The same is true for your business. Focus on less things, get them done and then move to the next. Maybe you can make smaller steps for some projects and make bigger steps for others. Focus on three things each day and get them done. By the end of the year you will have done more than 1000 things that will certainly help you build a thriving and wildly successful business.
